Sarah moved to Queenstown April 2016 for the snowboarding. She soon realised it was like Wales, just with more mountains and snow! Sarah plans to travel around NZ one day and more of the world.

Rockies opened it's doors to the people of Queenstown, New Zealand in 1992. An exciting business venture for two, encouragement from a husband and a strong desire to save their own children from the dreaded fashion faux pas, resulted in a shop formally known as Hopscotch.

Growing and adapting into the ever changing retail world of the town surrounding Lake Wakatipu; Rockies was warmly welcomed by local families and visitors from all over the world. Founded by Shirley Popenhagen, she had a vision of a children's boutique, where children could channel their personalities and individuality through illustrious and niche fashion labels. Rockies does not only dress the children of Queenstown, it now adorns the youngsters of our out of town clientele - something we are very proud of, featuring in Lonely Planet, New Zealand as a result of our dedication to worldly fashion.

All of our pieces are handpicked; sourcing key fashions, trends and fabrics to offer our customers an outfit with accessories that are perfectly chic but also resilient, catering to playtime. We provide comfort while maintaining style.

Rockies stocks labels from Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand which include Catimini, Munster, Minti and Rock Your Baby among many others. An extensive range of footwear including Converse, Skechers, DC's, Vans and Bobux are also in store to compliment the clothing range.

Being based in Queenstown, The Southern Hemisphere's premier four season lake and alpine resort, naturally, we also stock a large range of winter ski and snowboard wear over ten different labels. All the necessary accessories to keep the children warm including thermal wear and socks, merino tops, mittens, gloves, goggles and snow boots.

A business based on a strong work ethic of friendly, knowledgeable, reliable and efficient service; we look forward to welcoming you to Rockies.

We are covering the future.
